DMC ART BOOK DESIGN

The Social Media Illusion - Where Creativity Goes to Die.

Instagram used to be a platform for creatives. Now? It’s a playground for wannabe influencers, viral-chasing marketers, and algorithm-hacking ‘growth experts.’ If you don’t play the game-post non-stop, chase trends, sell your soul for engagement-you disappear.

I’ve felt this frustration myself. Between running UNI Creative and delivering for clients, finding time to curate social content is a battle. The irony? This post might not even reach you.

Dermot McConaghy (DMC ART) knows this struggle all too well. As one of Ireland’s most recognised street artists, he built a massive following online, gaining thousands of likes, shares, and features in major publications. But after years of chasing digital validation, he walked away-deleted his accounts and focused on making art for art’s sake.

The result? “My Kingdom for a Follow”- a raw, unfiltered collection of his art and poetry tackling social media addiction, modern distractions, mental health, relationships, and life itself. The title says it all.

This wasn’t just another book design project. Dermot refused to market it online. No ads. No social campaigns. Every page had to capture the raw emotion of his work.

I’ve put together a short video-a fast edit of the book’s pages. Will people actually watch it all the way through? Probably not. Do I care? Nope. That’s the whole point. One things for sure - I loved working on this project from start to finish.

If you’ve made it this far, break the doom-scroll cycle and grab a copy of this book. You won’t regret it. Get in touch in the messages and I’ll get you a copy sorted.
